Hello there, a really enjoyable and varied show this week,i started with Q-tip's debut solo single 'Breathe and stop' from 1999, then played a couple of classic Motown tracks from The Elgins and Marvin Gaye and a New Orleans stomper from Gentleman June Gardner.
Fela Kuti was next up then i played a couple of old studio 1 numbers first from Lee Perry and then Cedric Brooks, and lastly i rounded off the first half with a couple of Captain Beefheart tracks.
I changed things a bit for the second half, starting with a classical piece which i unfortunately don't know the name of (a recurring theme of recent shows), i followed that with a fairly sparse piano piece from Harold Budd with Ruben Garcia and Daniel Lentz. Ambient tracks from Dan Abrams and Kid 606 lead into the last track from hip hop act Gangstarr who's MC Guru recently died.
