Hey all, i wanted to play a fairly mixed bag of tunes this week. I started
the show with a song a by late bluesman Rainer Ptacek, i know very little about the guy but i love this track, very primitive angry sound to it.I don't play the Jam very much mainly because i always saw them as a singles band and not much else but i recently came across Sound_Affects and couldn't
believe how good it was, shades of post-punk, Michael Jackson and Dub all married
together really well by a 21 year old Paul Weller. Some nice electronica to round off the first half then a bit more down tempo in the second half, anyone who has listened to any Talk Talk albums (specifically 'Laughing Stock') will know how incredible Mark Hollis' songwriting is so i chose one from his band and one form his little known self titled debut lp from 1998.
